Support / FAQs

Q. When I double click the Actionpoint icon to open the program, error 2005 appears

A. There is an issue displaying the Actionpoint logo due to an update to Adobe Flash Player in Actionpoint version 2.6.1.0 or earlier. Close the error message and your presentation will continue to load safely. Double click the PowerPoint icon or open your presentation directly to avoid seeing this error message.

To fix the error permanently, please update to the latest version.

Q. What do I need to run Qwizdom Actionpoint?

A. You require at least the following:

  • Operating System: Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, or Windows 7.
  • Microsoft Office: 2003 (SP2), 2007 (SP1), or Office 2010 32 bit.

Q. I have a 64 bit operating system. Which version of Office 2010 should I install?

A. Currently, Actionpoint is only supported for Office 2010 32 bit, with no plans to support 64 bit in the near future. 64 bit operating systems are supported.

(Office 2010 32 bit is installed by default even if you are running a 64 bit operating system. The 64 bit version is widely unsupported by many 3rd party add-ins. Read more online about Microsoft’s recommended choice).

Q. I have installed the latest version of Actionpoint but I do not see the toolbar in PowerPoint?

A. Restart your machine, and run setup.exe again. Check that all prerequisites have installed correctly. Ensure that your system meets the minimum requirements, and that you have installed the required Service Packs for your version of Office, such as SP1 or SP2 for Office 2007, from Microsoft Update. If the same prerequisite keeps appearing, contact support@qwizdom.co.uk with the details.

Q. The toolbar was present, but it has now disappeared. How do I get it back?

A. PowerPoint may have closed due to an error and disabled 3rd party add-ins.

Office 2007

  • Click the Office Start Button
  • Click PowerPoint Options
  • Click Add-ins
  • At the bottom, beside “Manage”, select “Disabled Items” and select Go.
  • Enable the Actionpoint Addin and click OK. The toolbar should now reappear.

Office 2010

  • Click File
  • Click Options
  • Click Add-ins
  • At the bottom, beside “Manage”, select “Disabled Items” and select Go.
  • Enable the Actionpoint Addin and click OK. The toolbar should now reappear.

Q. My host seems to be temperamental. It is often not detected, or my remotes do not always connect.

A. We are aware of an issue with the Qwizdom Tools tray program, which attempts to start a live session as soon as a USB host is detected. In some cases, this can prevent Actionpoint or AnswerKey from utilising the host correctly.

The latest version of Actionpoint does not install the Qwizdom Tools program into the Startup menu by default, unless the Q7 tablet option is selected during the install process.

  • Click Start > All Programs > Startup
  • Right click and delete "Qwizdom Tools". Confirm the delete if prompted.
  • Restart your machine.

If you are a red host user, please refer to this page for driver installation instructions.
